This Polynesia-meets-Marrakech mini-resort is located in the center of Panarea's main village offering a secluded gated entry leading into the main hotel. The lobby offers painted-white floors and exposed beam-ceiling perking with upbeat lounge music. A charming lobby terrace is a popular spot for the hotel's complimentary cocktail hour, as guests stroll the lavish grounds in skimpy swimwear and flip-flops. Until the nearby Hotel Raya wrapped-up construction of its new spa facilities, this sexy 3-star boutique hotel has the only pool on Panarea. Not just an ordinary resort pool, the free flowing geo-thermal pool actually utilizes underground hot springs that are said to have a medicinal benefit. The property features dwarf Palm vegetation and lush tropical lawns that feel far more Asian than Aeolian. But the lounge scene around the pool is purely Italian with its modern rattan chairs and terracotta water features. Two separate restaurants adjoin the property offering traditional Italian seafood as well as a lively bar scene popular with visiting tourists.

The Room

Exposed flagstone walkways lead guests to a variety of one-room bungalow-style accommodations. While we usually refrain from recommending 3-star hotels, the well-manicured facilities and stylish clientele of this new boutique hotel are hard to ignore. Rooms feature painted blue-and-white tile floors with frill-free platform beds taking up much of the living space. Eclectic and bright walls compete with hospital-like wall mounted televisions and recessed shelving containing decorative art. Bathrooms are small but well designed with bright tile floors but with tiny sinks and toilets that would limit any generously sized guest. Larger suites feature outdoor patios as well as more expansive living and sleeping accommodations. Those looking for more privacy should inquire about the Limone and Mandarino villas (well-priced at 1000-Euro per week) on nearby Panarea Hill or various apartments available for weekly rental in town.
